Hi, I don't know if you remember me -- we had some iarttnceion on David Brin's blog a few (?) months back. Apparently I bookmarked your blog, then things got busy and the whole thing slipped my mind until I came across the bookmark the other day.We should be collaborating, because you seem to be thinking along many of the same lines I've been thinking along -- though we've arrived at slightly different solutions (which may be complementary, part of a more complete toolkit).I've been calling mine (one way I've described it is "social networking for governance") and trying to find the time to build it.My main criticism of your Chagora project is that it seems to tie one's level of participation to how much money one can contribute, which I see as somewhat at odds with the goals of a democracy. Possibly you've addressed this issue (if so, please point me at the explanation) -- but even if not, it certainly can be dealt with, e.g. by putting all money into a common pool from which all voters draw... and somehow providing other (social?) rewards for those who contribute the most to the pool.Ideas keep coming faster than the time to implement them. I'm currently thinking that there needs to be a system for people to exchange value without being tied to any existing currencies; I've posted some discussion of that (in a forum-format) .Looking forward to more discussion.
